Ahoy, eco-warriors! The Plastic Pirates are back in action, and we're excited to announce the launch of our Autumn 2023 sampling period. As the leaves turn and the air crisps, we're rolling up our sleeves and getting ready to tackle the plastic pollution problem head-on.

What Do the Plastic Pirates Do?

If you're new to our crew, let us fill you in. We're a passionate group of young volunteers spread across Europe, committed to making a difference in the fight against plastic pollution. Armed with our trusty data sheets and a determination to clean up, we set out to conduct samplings along rivers, waterways, and beaches. Our process is rigorous: we meticulously sample for waste, plastic waste, and microplastic. Why? Because these seemingly small actions have significant ripple effects. The data we gather is invaluable for scientists studying plastic pollution trends in Europe.

Samplings All Over Europe

From September to December 2023, our Plastic Pirates will be making waves all across the continent. We're talking Portugal, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Austria, Slovenia, Bulgaria, and Georgia!

Our mission knows no borders. As we hit the riversides and shorelines, we'll be collecting data that helps piece together the plastic pollution puzzle.
